Back To The Basics

The Gospel

The most basic concept of Christian faith is the gospel. Our faith begins and ends with Jesus. The people from the Old Testament, looking ahead to the cross and everyone after looking back on the cross.

Our faith begins by believing the gospel. Believing that Jesus died for our sins was buried three days then rose again on the third day.

Christ Is The Center Of Our Faith

The center point of our faith is Christ. Following him letting others know of what he did,  he died was buried and rose again. For those of the Old Testament they looked forward to the cross. As where we look back to the cross for our salvation.

Jesus Christ is the pillar of our faith, he holds it up. He is the author and finisher of or faith. We cannot do anything without him. He should be the center point in our daily lives. We should seek after his will and what he wants for us.

Being Christians

So what does being Christian mean to you? Does it mean you follow a certain Doctrine or teaching of the Bible? Or does it mean you follow christ studying the bible for yourself and listen when God gives an understanding.

Following Doctrine- while each Doctrine’s foundation should be in Jesus Christ, if your doctrine is not founded in christ then you should not follow it. Doctrine should not be the main focus of ministry either. We are not called to preach Doctrine but to preach the gospel of Christ.

Following Christ- you can follow Christ and believe Doctrine but believing and teaching are two different things. I personally believe we as a congregation shouldn’t teach Doctrine it distracts us from our purpose. Which is to spread the gospel of Christ.

Our Job

Jesus gives us one task to do in the bible, to spread the good news of the gospel to every creature on earth. To tell others what he did for us and them if they believe. To let people know he died was buried and rose again taking their sins with him.

Believing Right

We believe but do we truly believe right. Believing like the bible tells us to. Alot of Doctrines believe that they are right which is why different Doctrines argue about what the Bible says this causes confusion and chaos among both believers and unbelievable.

To new believers especially this is damaging. Not having studied the bible for themselves. They start believing it is full of contradictions or makes them question their faith, leading the believing wrong or encouraging them to stop believing at all.

Anointing- a good christian will know an anointed study of the Bible. Being led by the Holy Spirit. Following the aominating to God’s understanding, not relying on their own, but understand what God is showing them.

What God Reveals- The Anointing is the Holy Spirit revealing something to someone God is teaching you something personally. That relationship is what makes us different and NOT just a religion but having a meaningful relationship with the Creator, our God.

Following God- so is following God a matter of Doctrine or of following Christ what do you think? Doctrine has it’s place but is it the thing we need to follow, are we insisting on the doctrine is how Christ would act? Or do we believe Doctrine should follow Christ’s behavior?

Getting Back to the Basics

So let get back to the Basics preaching the gospel of Christ helping young Christians to grow. I have been to alot of different churches and have found onI agree with all of them on at least one thing, I have not found a church yet that I agree with everything going on in their beliefs. Anything that I’m not sure about I ask God to show his perspective.

Congratulations on your new baby! However, I must respectfully disagree with this article:
Hebrews 5
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Hebrews 6
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this will we do, if God permit.

From your article:
“Doctrine should not be the main focus of ministry either. We are not called to preach Doctrine but to preach the gospel of Christ.

Following Christ- you can follow Christ and believe Doctrine but believing and teaching are two different things. I personally believe we as a congregation shouldn’t teach Doctrine it distracts us from our purpose. Which is to spread the gospel of Christ.”
This directly contradicts Hebrews.

I stand corrected but please understand. When i say doctrine i mean the personal interpretations of the bible. That are outside the Doctrine of truth The doctrine that are not guided by the Holy Spirit. But i will admit wrong for saying that it should not be taught in church. My point is to make sure that you are perusing the doctrine of truth. Not standing on a teaching that is not supported by bible.
